Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is appropriate for people of all ages, including children, adolescents, and adults. Therapy addresses numerous conditions, such as major depressive disorder, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders by interrogating and uprooting negative or irrational beliefs. CBT rests on the idea that thoughts and perceptions influence behavior. This type of therapy is considered a "solutions-oriented" form of therapy. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy strives to teach it is often not what has happened to you but how you perceive what has happened that causes your symptoms.
